Snail Clementine, who's fascinated by all things round (like her), enlists her snake friend Paul to help figure out how to get to the moon; a rocket finally does the trick. There's not much to the story--there's no conflict en route, no quandary once she gets there. Loth's clear, unfussy illustrations, including gatefold pages devoted to Clementine's journey, are visually impressive.

Zelda, a young goose, is grief stricken by the loss of her turtle friend Crystal. She searches high and low for her, crying out "Where are you hiding, Crystal?" Ultimately Zelda finds Crystal--within her heart and her memories. Loth's combination of spare text and rich, warm illustrations make for an effective exercise in bibliotherapy.
